Zowel Lola als Lucía zijn veelgebruikte namen in songteksten.

Veruit het bekendste nummer is Lola van The Kinks (afkomstig van het album Lola Versus Powerman & The Money-go-round uit 1970).

Het is niet onwaarschijnlijk dat de meeste Lola-nummers direct of indirect zijn geinspireerd door de prachtige Tarantula danseres Lola Montez. Dit geldt zeker voor het nummer Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets (originally by Sarah Vaughan).
